5.1.3 Installing License Keys

License key registration

After obtaining a Jindent license key it is necessary to register the key in Jindent. This can be done by this registration interface.

Explanation of Buttons

add from file	Reads a license key from a specific file and proceeds registration.
add from clipboard	Copies a license key from clipboard and proceeds registration.
show license	Shows informations of selected license key.
remove license	Remove selected license key.

Installing License Keys

Jindent license keys are plain text and can be installed in two ways:

From a selected file via file dialog:
Click on button 'add from file' and select the location of the Jindent license key file you would like to install. Click 'ok'.

Per copy and paste via clipboard:
Click on button 'add from clipboard' and copy and paste the Jindent license key you would like to install. Agree with 'ok'.

Finally click on button 'Install' to proceed the installation.
Now a license key is installed and Jindent can be used.

License Key Installation Troubleshooting

While installing license keys ensure that you have write access to Jindent's home directory. Jindent will try to place the installed license key files in a new created subfolder.
If Jindent will not be able to create this subfolder or to write new files into it, it will pop up an error dialog.

Evaluation Version of Jindent

If no license key is is installed, then Jindent will be enabled for evaluation purpose and has the following restrictions:

Once in a while a splash screen pops up.
Files containing more than 400 lines of code cannot be formatted.
Jindent's commercial note cannot be turned off.
The evaluation period will expire after one month.
